There are many different kinds of addictions out there. Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. I was brought up to believe that once you were an alcoholic,  you were going to be one all of your life. All of my beliefs changed after I became addicted to drugs myself and got educated.
