Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. Luckily my brother talked my family into giving me one more chance at a long term in-patient rehab when I was in jail . Luckily I took the opportunity and not only have my life back but a family who looks forward to talking to me today and seeing me, where before it was unanswered phone calls and never seeing one another.
