Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. I took the program seriously while she couldn't quite believe she could live without hydrocodone. We both completed the program. I have a good clean life today drug free, she went to her doctor one week. after getting out and is now hooked on heroin and on her way back to treatment.
